HOD's Message

“Without mathematics, there’s nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.”

As an important human endeavour, mathematics has come to be recognized as the language of science. Mathematics is one of the oldest academic subjects and is one of the most mature and well-developed disciplines of basic sciences. Mathematics, the study of quantity, structure, space, and change, is used as an essential tool in natural sciences, engineering, medicine and the social sciences. The subject seeks to establish truth by arduous deduction, being the core foundation of the Field of Engineering, aids to build Analytical, Reasoning & Logical skills of the future Engineers and Researchers.

The Department aims in setting goals to lead students a balanced successful life through health, relationships, and mental peace all in good order. Also, our goal is to create a better world through education, research and extension activities.

The aim of the department is to pursue excellence in Mathematics through teaching learning process. We are achieving our objectives with the help of significantly experienced faculty.

To create more interest in the subject, students are motivated by giving  examples from their immediate environment, diagrammatic representations, clippings etc. related to them and their applications in the real world using modern techniques.

I, as a departmental head, hope this work will prove inspiring to our students and to the wider empirical community, including our alumni.

As I move on, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us in this role and all the teachers who have shared their time and expertise to support us. We will still be based in the Department of Mathematics and our paths may well cross again.
